Taking care of yourself is not a simple task, but it comes with profound consequences. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Registered Yoga Teacher helping those who live with past trauma, anxiety, depression, family/relationship issues, difficult life transitions, or anyone feeling stuck to work towards creating a more peaceful life. I received a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Marymount Manhattan College and Masters Degree in Social Work from Hunter College. I am a Registered Yoga Teacher and certified sandplay therapist.
I specialize in attachment as it relates to the parent child relationship. I understand first hand how an early disruption in attachment can create deep wounds that linger well into adulthood. For the past six years I have worked with children, adolescents, and young adults struggling with issues related to adoption, loss of parent, divorce, and parents with substance use and/or mental illness.
Past trauma manifests itself not only in the heart and mind, but also in our bodies. I am passionate about creating a safe space that allows people to develop a mind body connection in order to most effectively heal from emotional pain. I believe in a client centered, relaxed approach to therapy including yoga and movement, meditation, sandplay therapy, and art. I have great respect for anyone seeking therapeutic support in order to process difficult feelings. Sliding scale payment option are available.
